Q1: Do you provide services nationwide?
- A: While our base is in North Wales and North West England, we provide nationwide services. Our extensive network allows us to efficiently serve clients across the country, whilst our own general haulage fleet can cover the whole of the mainland UK. We can also arrange FORS deliveries within London, Irish and European deliveries.
Q2: How do you ensure the safety of transported goods?
- A: Safety is paramount. We follow industry-standard precautions, and our staff is trained to handle goods with care. We also maintain a low damage rate and provide track and traceability for added security. We only use Palletline for our network deliveries; they have the industry’s lowest damage rate as monitored by the Association of Pallet Networks.
Q3: What sets Edge apart from competitors?
- A: While competitors may focus on lower prices, we prioritise quality, reliability, and transparency. Our family-owned business has a 90-year legacy, and we’ve been recognized for our commitment to excellence. Our staff are some of the best in the industry as well – passionate about providing the highest service levels.
Q4: What sustainability practices does your company follow?
- A: We are committed to eco-friendly operations. This includes route optimization, using on site renewable energy sources, and investing in green initiatives. Our first electric HGV hit the road in March 2024 and we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
Q5: Can you accommodate specific requirements for my business?
- A: Absolutely. We create tailor-made service solutions for our customers that meet their needs. Our team will take the time to find out what your business needs and how Edge can add value.
Q6: How does night delivery benefit my business?
- A: The roads are quieter at night meaning that night time deliveries minimize disruptions, enhance productivity, and offer convenience to your customers. They can contribute to cost-efficient operations, especially during high-demand periods, and align with sustainable logistics practices
Q8: Do you provide services nationwide?
- A: While our base is in North Wales and North West England, we provide nationwide services. Our extensive network allows us to efficiently serve clients across the country, whilst our own general haulage fleet can cover the whole of the mainland UK.
Q9: What are oversize pallets and how do I calculate the footprint?
- A: Our standard pallet footprint is deliberately generous, at 1.2m x 1.5m, to allow for some small excesses on a single pallet. If your pallet exceeds this footprint, then oversize pallets are calculated in multiples of 1.2m x 1.2m. The rules around pallet sizes can be confusing so visit our oversize information page.
