Distribution Manager

Claire leads the Traffic Office team, making sure that everything goes to plan.

She leads the team of planners who look after general haulage, local area deliveries, Palletline network deliveries and our key accounts.

No two days are ever the same for Claire and she is one of Go To people!

Charlie Woodward

Finance Administrator

Charlie is our finance administrator and has been with us since she started an Apprenticeship with Edge.

Charlie looks after the majority of our day to day accounts transactions - purchase invoice processing, bank transactions, pricing - as well as our credit control.

She's currently doing her AAT Level 3 as part of an apprenticeship through Coleg Cambria. Her progression since joining Edge has been amazing; she's taken on so much more than we envisaged and is a huge part of the Edge Office team.

Chris Carr

Night Trunk Driver

Chris is one of our night drivers who run to and from the Palletline hubs each night.

He is responsible for transporting our Palletline freight to the Hubs each evening, returning with pallets for our drivers to deliver across the North West and North Wales. With Hubs in Birmingham, Rugby and Manchester, you'll see Chris in his double decker on the A41 or M56 most nights.

Dan Collins

Night Manager

As Dan once put it, he's the "Swiss Army Knife of Edge". He's multi skilled and able to jump in to support as needed.

One week he may be routing the general haulage planning in the office, next covering customer collections, then being a Class 1 general haulage driver or even working a week on nights covering the routing and loading.

From May 2024 he's moving in to our Night Manager role, overseeing our busy night time trunking operation and looking after our team of night drivers.

Dave Williams

Fleet Maintenance and Site Supervisor

Dave is our go to man when it comes to maintaining the fleet and addressing vehicle defects promptly ensuring our drivers have safe, comfortable and well maintained trucks. He completes some repairs in house but also liaises with our suppliers as needed.

Dave started at Edge as an FLT Driver, progressing on to Supervisor and then to our fleet role.

Dave also has his own Ju-Jitsu Club, is a 4th dan imminently and has been training in the art for over 27 years! He's a huge advocate for getting the team outdoors so organises our 'Edge wanders' weekend walks.

Dean Walker

Senior Driver Trainer

Dean has been with us for over 15 years and has progressed from Class 2 driver up to Class 1 whilst he has been with us.

He's one of our Senior Driver Trainers - helping to continually develop our team of drivers - and is also ADR qualified.

Dean is a bit of a superstar and spends time in the office managing and training the drivers and the other half of his time out and about the North West as a Class 1 & 2 Driver!

Dean comes across as the quiet one but has a wicked sense of humour!

Des Yates

Class 2 Driver

Des is one of our many, friendly Palletline drivers who complete pallet collections and deliveries across North Wales and Cheshire as well as around the Wirral.

Eddie Buckley

FLT Driver

Eddie is one of our hard working warehouse team who are responsible for handling the thousands of pallets in our warehouse.

A keen golfer, Eddie spends the majority of his day driving his fork lift truck moving pallets into storage locations and then out of storage ready for onward distribution.

Elin Bamber

Head of People & Finance

Elin has been with Edge since 2013 now and has had an incredible journey. Elin has progressed to become our Head of People & Finance after first starting as an apprentice in the Sales team.

During her apprenticeship she found her natural affinity for numbers so later moved to the accounts department where she has progressed from Finance Assistant to Finance Manager. Elin also has a natural ability and conscentious personality to help her fellow colleagues and is perfectly suited to being our Head of People & Finance.

As well as overseeing Finance, Elin makes sure that our culture, vision and values are communicated, understood and demonstrated by every member of Team Edge.

All in all, Elin has achieved so much here at Edge and is a valued member of our Senior Leadership team.

Gary Sutcliffe

Transhipment Operative

Gary is one of our hard working FLT drivers in the Transhipment team. He makes sure that all the pallets destined for delivery through the Palletline network are loaded on to the correct trunk trailer and depart on time.

Jack Gorst

Fleet & Driver Manager

Jack is a member of our leadership team, responsible for maintenance and care of our vehicles, as well as looking after our team of hard working and professional drivers.

Jack if a qualified Class 1 driver, holds his Transport Manager CPC and whilst he looks young has a wealth of experience that's already bringing benefits to Edge.

Jason Clayton

Class 1 Driver

Jason joined us as a Class 2 driver and quickly settled in to the team at Edge.

Edge funded his Class 1 driver training and he's now a Class 1 general haulage driver.

Jason is one of the team who is always happy to support and jump in when needed. When asked, he'll cover in the office, jump on a fork lift or cover the weekend, he's even been known to try and beat the Edge boys at crazy golf.... he definitely let them win!

Jeff Parker

Class 2 Driver

Jeff is one of our many, friendly Palletline drivers who complete pallet collections and deliveries across North Wales and Cheshire as well as around the Wirral.

Jeff mentored one of our van driver apprenticeships, Lewys, and really contributed to his development.

John Livingstone

FLT Driver

John is one of our hard working warehouse team who are responsible for handling the thousands of pallets in our warehouse.

You'll know it's John as he's always whistling or singing a tune whilst busy on the forklift!

Johnny Conway

Class 1 Driver

Johnny joined us as a Class 2 multi drop driver covering Palletline deliveries.

Edge funded his Class 1 training and he's now a general haulage driver completing full and part loads all over the country.

Johnny used to work as a pastry chef and if you're lucky to be here when he brings some of his homemade goodies in, then you're in for a treat!

Jonathan Edge

CEO

Jonathan is our CEO and is the grandson of Alfred Edge who started the business over 90 years ago.

Jonathan is married to Nikki Edge (our Operations Director) and his sister Jenny also worked as Commercial Director for Edge for many years.

He joined the company in 1996 on the traffic desk and when his Dad, Peter, unfortunately passed away in 1999, Jonathan stepped up to lead the company.

Jonathan is also a Non Executive Director of Palletline Ltd, voted on to the board by his fellow shareholders.

Keith Young

Class 2 Driver

Keith has been working at Edge for over 19 years and has watched the business grow from strength to strength.

He started off working as a driver, like many of our team, and then managed our transhipment operation, and is now back out on the road.

Keith is too shy for a photo though!

Laura Cairns

Customer Service Manager

Laura is one of our great problem solvers. After starting with Edge as an Admin Assistant, we quickly saw her potential and she’s now our Customer Service Manager.
Her roles to monitor the level of service for Edge customers and ensure that we’re always offering exceptional service. She is the main point of contact for our customers and goes out of her way to build great working relationships. She also used to be a mid wife so has a wealth of medical experience that we often find useful!

Lee Saville

Class 1 Driver

Lee joined Edge as a newly qualified driver having worked as a Team Leader in a supermarket RDC. He always wanted to be a professional driver and we're lucky to have snapped him up!

Within 9 months of joining us, Lee has been put through his Class 1 by Edge and passed so now has achieved his ambition of driving artics.

Lee has a great sense of humour and is always happy.

Nikki Edge

Operations Director

Nikki is our Operations Director and is married to Jonathan, our CEO.

She used to work for Palletline (that's where she met Jonathan) but has worked for Edge since they started a family.

Responsible for overseeing the Operations of the business, Nikki is a bit of a whirlwind and always juggling at least 3 things at once!

Rob is one our friendly Class 1 drivers who completes pallet collections and deliveries for both Palletline and General Haulage within the North Wales and across the UK

Simon O'Hara

Class 1 Driver

Simon is one our friendly Class 1 drivers who completes pallet collections and deliveries for both Palletline and General Haulage within the North Wales and across the UK.

Simon is also ADR qualified so completes some of our special dedicated loads!

Steve Prince

Class 2 Driver

Steve is one of our many, friendly Palletline drivers who complete pallet collections and deliveries across North Wales and Cheshire as well as around the Wirral.

Steve Tasker

Transhipment Supervisor

Steve is part of our transhipment team who handle all the Palletline and Amazon pallets overnight.

Steve leads the operational team that unload the Palletline trunk trailers, sort the pallets into their routes and then load our Palletline vehicles for their first run of the day.

He will also load out the trailers for the two Amazon FC's that we cover as part of the Palletline-Amazon Inbound Consolidation Partnership Scheme - XUKA and XLP1.

Class 1 Driver

Steve is one our friendly Class 1 drivers who completes pallet collections and deliveries for both Palletline and General Haulage within the North Wales and across the UK.

Tom Hughes

Class 1 Driver

Tom is one of our Class 1 drivers and is out delivering and collecting full and part loads across the North West and the UK.

If you've seen our 85th liveried truck out on the road then you will have seen Tom as that's his allocated vehicle!
