Steve Rigby

Warehouse Manager

Steve joined Team Edge in 2017 and is responsible for our entire warehouse and trans-shipment operation. Our warehouse offer has evolved since Steve started with us and he’s played a significant part in expanding our service offer.

Steve’s worked within warehouse operations for an impressive 23 years and says that he is yet to encounter a day which doesn’t throw a challenge in his direction.

His first job in the morning is to make the Transport and Warehouse office team a brew, then catch up with the operations team and warehouse supervisors so that everyone is fully briefed on the day ahead. Steve then spends some time responding to emails and reviewing the various daily reports designed to ensure that we are meeting our KPI targets and identifying any challenges that need to be overcome. He is also the main customer contact for some of our key warehouse customers and liaises with them to ensure everything goes smoothly.

What he likes about his job with Edge is that he has the freedom to be himself, and the ability to make a difference.  As well as his main warehouse responsibilities, Steve is part of the senior management team and gets involved in warehouse recruitment, training, process and procedure implementation as well as health & safety. No two days are the same for Steve and he likes it that way!

His biggest achievement with Edge is attaining BRC Storage and Distribution accreditation, especially the 2018 audit where we attained Grade AA certification with only one minor non-conformance. He’s been involved in BRC in two other businesses as well as Edge, and this was the best result he has ever been involved in. Steve, and the whole of Team Edge are quite rightly very proud of the achievement.
