Coronavirus Update

March 17th, 2020

With the worldwide spread of Covid-19, we are continuing to monitor, and follow, Public Health England and Government information as we appreciate that the situation is very fluid.

We are aware that our customers and delivery points are taking preventative action and can assure that Edge, and our partner networks, are also taking action to mitigate the risks that this unprecedented situation presents.

We are aware that our customers and delivery points are taking preventative action and can assure you that Edge, and our partner networks, are also taking action to mitigate the risks that this unprecedented situation presents.   A Coronavirus Action Team has been formed which will review plans daily to ensure that we continue to take a sensible and pragmatic approach to the situation. This will include fully briefing our managers and team leaders as well as communicating out to our staff, customers and regular delivery points as the situation evolves.

These are the key steps we are taking to protect our team and yours…

Capacity We are working with our network, Palletline Ltd, our contractors and suppliers to ensure that contingency plans are in place to deal with any wide-spread disruption. We will do as much as we can to support our customers and continue to provide our services but are mindful that unknown challenges are ahead.

Team Edge Welfare   All staff are receiving frequent communication updates regarding Covid-19. This includes the requirement to follow PHE guidance at all times and keep abreast of developments.

Hygiene   Enhanced cleaning routines will be followed with hand sanitiser stations, disposable paper towels, tissues and germicidal cleaner sprays available throughout the site and for drivers to have with them on the road. Official NHS/PHE posters are also on display throughout the site reminding people of basic hygiene methods that prevent the spread of all germs. Drivers have been advised to follow reasonable instructions provided by collection and delivery points with regard to personal hygiene and physical interaction.

Risk Assessments   All visitors to site with potential sustained close contact with staff are being asked to complete a questionnaire to assess risk, prior to anyone being allowed to access the office building, warehouse or general site.  All staff returning from annual leave or foreign travel will complete a questionnaire to assess risk prior to being allowed to continue with their usual work.  Temperatures checks will be made if appropriate.

If you should have any questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to contact a Director on 01244 957 400 or email your usual contacts. We will keep updating the website as the situation progresses.

Thank you in advance for your support during what could be quite challenging times ahead.
