Jonathans strength lies in the detail. On a daily basis he is very hands on and will review financial and operational performance against targets, react quickly to changing volumes of the Palletline network and the needs of our own customers.
His biggest challenges tend to be capacity and performance related. He finds ways of effectively maximising our capacity in order to accommodate our customers, as well as finding new ways for Edge to continually improve performance and quality. He is always looking ahead, working on the long term strategy for the business and ways that we can keep evolving.
He takes pride in being able to develop his staff so that they can take on more challenging roles and responsibilities. With many of our team leaders and managers starting with us as drivers, he has created a culture of training and development within the business.
Jonathan’s wife, Nikki, works for the business as the Finance Director, along with his sister Jenny, and brother-in-law Richard so it is truly a family run business. When Jonathan isn’t at work he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies and sports as well as staying fit as one of the Level 1 coaches for the AFC Waverton U8’s.
He is a huge advocate for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and has helped fundraise by completing events such as Rough Runner in 2016, and the crazy colour run in 2017, Delamere Commando 10km and the Foamtastic Colourblast in 2018.
Jonathan takes great pride in the business and what the family have been able to achieve in its 85 year history. Moving from Llay to Deeside was a huge step change for the business and a project he masterminded from start to finish.
